On Friday 24 March, we celebrated the Birkenhead City Cricket Club’s 125th Jubilee. Hosted at the club rooms we saw both current and past; players, coaches, and community members.
Thank you to all who attended and made the night of celebration so special!
125th Jubilee Celebrations
“Cricket has been a massive part of my life from a very young age. I’ve played most formats and recently started a new chapter as a Player/coach. Of the many lessons I’ve learned from this wonderful game resilience stands out as the most important one. Being able to rise after a disappointing game, month, or season and doing it all over again the next season.
I represented my province from the age of 13 and eventually made my First-class debut for the Highveld Strikers in 2014. From a long list of achievements, the few that stand out is a double century as a 12-year-old in a District tournament, a double on tour in Australia for my district at age 16 and a triple in Club Cricket in the UK. I am also very proud to say that I received the Auckland Club Cricket batsman of the year award twice.
I believe I am still learning as a player, coach and mentor and look forward to what the rest of my career has to offer.”
